Nutrition and Supplements: frequently asked questions
- What foods should I actually avoid?
- Unpasteurized dairy, raw fish and meat, high-mercury fish (shark, swordfish, king mackerel), deli meats unless heated to steaming, and alcohol. Most other rules are softer than the internet suggests.
- Are prenatal gummies enough?
- Most gummies leave out iron. Check the label: a prenatal that includes 27mg of iron is the clinical standard, gummy or otherwise.
